The Washington Dynix User Group would like to extend an invitation to regional Horizon users to attend our next meeting on Wednesday, September 23rd.  As Ameritech Library Services creates and markets a number of Abridge@ products and eventually supports one product line, Dynix and Horizon users have much to share and learn from each other.  Another interest shared by Ameritech Library Services clients in the Northwest is the joint development work of ALS and WLN.

Our September 23rd meeting will be from 9:30-3:30 at the Pierce County Library Processing and Administrative Center, Meeting Room C.  Presentations will be focussed on issues of interest to all ALS clients: connectivity, desktop management and web applications.

* Lare Mischo on Tacoma Public Library=s catalog links to amazon.com

* Rod Miller, Ft. Vancouver Regional Library, on Pharos internet access control software

* ALS staff on desktop management solutions (ALS/NDC partnership)

* Gwen Culp, Timberland Regional Library, on Telecirc II beta testing

There will also be plenty of open discussion time during which ALS staff will address issues in product development, project management, and customer support.  Time will be set aside at the end of the meeting for Dynix and Horizon users to meet separately to discuss individual concerns.

Driving directions are attached and coffee will be available at 9:00 a.m.  Lunch must be ordered in advance; we=re buying deli trays and need your RSVP to know how much to order.  Vegetarians will be accomodated and cost will be $5-6 per person.

Contact Bonnie Lee Brown with your RSVP no later than September 17th at bonnie@pcl.lib.wa.us or 253-536-6500 x139.

The WA Dynix Users Group typically attracts about 25 system administrators and IT staff and meets semi-annually in the Puget Sound area.  We very much hope you=ll join us at this or a future meeting and help us build agendas relevant to all of our concerns.
